How to Manage App Notifications on Your Android

Your phone can keep you connected to (almost) everything you want to know—not just your calls and messages. You can get instant updates about breaking news, calendar events, and social media activity.

Of course, too many notifications popping up on your home screen can feel overwhelming. Take control by adjusting your settings:

  1. Open Settings and tap Notifications.
  2. You can turn off all notifications for apps on the list, or choose specific apps and adjust their settings.

Do Not Disturb Mode

Prefer to take a break from all calls, messages, and alerts? Turn on Do not disturb. Swipe down twice from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings menu. Then tap Do not disturb.

To customize Do not disturb settings, open Settings Sound (or Sounds & vibration) > Do not disturb. Here, you can choose from these options:

  • Turn on now
  • Turn on as scheduled
  • Allow exceptions

Now, enjoy some peace and quiet. Remember: just because you can answer doesn’t mean you have to.
